Begona is a freelance artist with focus on SFX makeup and character design.


She studied Fine Arts at the University of Seville, with major in Sculpture and Drawing. After graduating from Winchester School of Art and getting her masters in Photography at the University of Arts London, she enrolled in Neill Gorton’s Prosthetics Boot Camp in order to push her career forward. 

She has also studied at Cinema Makeup School in LA; most recently sculpture with Tom Hester, and in 2018 was given finalist awards in their Legends of Creature Design and Ve Neill Scholarship contests.

She has also studied Illustration and Creature Design with artist Jared Fajardo. 

Begona has worked for the BBC, with British celebrities such as Jamie Laing and Michael McIntyre, internationally for The Cartoon Network and on several independent films across the UK and Europe. She is often a guest at events (such as the Science Museum London, and Comic Con) where she does live SFX make-up demonstrations on stage.


Her latest projects include a tribute makeup of Lon Chaney in ‘London After Midnight’, a head-piece of a female Mon Calamari for IMATS London, a large medical prop for a VR experience at UCL, and a guest demo at a comic con in The Netherlands.
